The

Hayes is an absolute must have for any serious horse owner, whether you
are breeding, competing or just a pleasure rider/owner wishing to have
excellent equine knowledge on hand at all times. This 880 page book is
a super comprehensive reference manual that covers everything related
to horse health care, and all written in easy to understand language.
The book is divided
into seven sections covering; the Organ Systems, the Muskoskeletal System,
the Reproductive System, Infectious Diseases, Medical and Surgery matters,
Management and Husbandry, and Miscellaneous other topics including exercise,
purchase of horses, veterinary nursing, colours and markings.
A new topic in this
revised edition is Artificial Insemination, which is now so commonly practised
worldwide and a big step forward in equine breeding programmes. The breeding
information is very interesting including understanding ultra-sound scanning
as well as good foaling information.
As an extensive guide
to look up for all equine health matters, this book would be hard to beat.
